Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis (PrEP)

What is PrEP?

PrEP stands for pre-exposure prophylaxis. It is medication you can take to protect yourself from HIV. The treatment needs to be started BEFORE sex. It is extremely effective when taken properly.

PrEP does not protect against any other STI’s.

Luton Sexual Health can now provide PrEP on the NHS.  Anyone at high risk of HIV is eligible. If you would like to start PrEP, please call 01582 497070 and ask for a PrEP Doctor appointment. Your risk will be assessed and we will advise whether PrEP is suitable for you.
