Condom problems

If a condom splits or comes off during sex it could result in an unplanned pregnancy or the passing on of an STI.

If this happens, contact us confidentially on 01582 560383 to discuss the risks and work out whether anything needs to be done, for example taking emergency contraception or being tested for STIs.

If the person you had sex with has HIV, or you think they might have HIV, you should consider post-exposure prophylaxis (PEP) treatment, which when taken within 72 hours of exposure can reduce the risk of HIV infection.

During our opening hours, come into the Luton Sexual Health service Hub as soon as possible. Or, if we are not open, go to the Accident and Emergency department of your nearest hospital.
